Jalgaon: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Jalgaon, in collaboration with JIH Women’s Circle and GIO Jalgaon, organised a unique “Souk-ul-Khair” (Khair Bazaar) at Millat High School and Junior College, Mehrun, on Sunday, February 16. The event took place from 10 am to 8 pm and attracted a huge gathering of enthusiastic shoppers.
The market featured 40 stalls offering a wide range of products, including garments, jewellery, daily life accessories, and various types of delicious food items. Also, a group of study-minded sisters gathered at the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind school.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by special guests Dr. Rukhsana Madam, Aqila Madam, Nasima Nagori Madam, and Shabana Samad Madam. After the recitation of the Quran, the chief guest formally inaugurated the market by cutting the ribbon. The guests were presented with bouquets.
In her inaugural address, Nasreen Mahmood, the local Nazima of the women’s circle, outlined the objectives of organising the bazaar and its desired impact on society. The guests expressed their happiness and offered their best wishes for the success of the “Khair Ke Bazaar.”
Through this initiative, the JIH Jalgaon presented a practical model of a bazaar that embodied Islamic values. The organisation aimed to promote Islamic values related to business, provide a safe and segregated environment for women, empower women in business, foster mutual relationships, and curb profiteering in trade.
The market remained crowded with buyers throughout the day. The event was widely appreciated by the people of Jalgaon, who acknowledged the efforts of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in promoting Islamic values and providing a safe environment for women.
The organisers provided stalls for shopkeepers and sisters at a modest price, along with amenities such as drinking water and chairs. The event created a pleasant and safe environment for women and girls to buy, sell, and socialise.
At the conclusion of the market, the shopkeepers and sisters shared their impressions, expressing satisfaction with the sales and profits earned. They acknowledged the selfless services of the JIH Jalgaon cadre and appreciated the excellent planning, management, and adherence to rules and regulations.
The sisters demanded that such a market be organised twice a year. The success of the event was attributed to the collective efforts of the male and female cadres of Jalgaon Jamaat, students of GIO, and the youth of SIO, under the leadership of local Ameer Abdullah Sir.
