JIH Maharashtra President condemns derogatory remarks against Khawaja Moinuddin Ajmeri

Mumbai, March 26: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra, Maulana Ilyas Khan Falahi has condemned Hindu Shakti Dal Chief Simran Gupta’s derogatory remarks against Khawaja Moinuddin Ajmeri and demanded the Maharashtra Police file an FIR against him. In addition to strict action, the government should also clarify its position in this regard.

Maulana Falahi said insulting speeches and remarks against respectable figures of Muslims have become routine and normalized in the country. Hatred against Muslims has been cultivated in such a way that derogatory statements and insulting words against Muslim venerated and holy personalities have become a common thing. He alleged that although this disturbing trend is on the increase, no action is being taken against the perpetrators and if at all some action is taken, it is very nominal and token.

A few days ago, Simran Gupta, head of Hindu Shakti Dal in Ajmer, breaking all limits of insolence, insulted Khwaja Moinuddin Ajmeri and, expressing his hatred, demanded a survey of the Dargah of Ajmer and its surrounding mosques. We strongly condemn such shameful, hateful, and insulting statements and demand the police administration to take strict action against such miscreants.

According to reports, Pune APCR local official Anwar Baghban, JIH PR Assistant Secretary Shoaib Asim, and others complained to the Pune police about this derogatory and insulting statement, but the police refused to file an FIR.

According to Justice (retd) Abhay Thapse – Pune police not registering an FIR is a violation of the Supreme Court directives. Therefore, we request the Maharashtra government and the police administration to register an FIR and set an example that hate speech or statements will not be tolerated in the state.
