JIH Modasa Hosts Pre-Marriage Workshop for Young Women

Modasa, Aug 20: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Modasa organized a Pre-Marriage Workshop for young women aged 18-25 at the Palette Hotel Banquet Hall here Sunday. The workshop sought to address the changing attitudes of today’s generation towards marriage, emphasizing the importance of building strong family units rooted in Islamic principles.

The event commenced with a recitation of the Quran by Ruqaiya Malik, a member of Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO), followed by a translation presented by GIO associate Zikra Sheikh. Mohtarma Jinnatbanu Malek, Nazima of the Women’s Wing, JIH Modasa, warmly welcomed the participants, while Umar Vohra outlined the purpose of the workshop.

The main mentor of the workshop, Maulana Mohiuddin Ghazi Madani, JIH National Secretary, led the first session with a compelling discourse on the necessity, importance, and position of Nikah in Islam. He delved into the responsibilities and rights of both spouses within a marriage under the theme “Keys to Love,” offering clear and engaging insights that resonated with the audience.

Following this, Dr. Iftikhar Malek, JIH Modasa President, facilitated an in-depth discussion with the young, unmarried women in attendance. He explored crucial factors in selecting a spouse and addressed the perspectives of today’s youth on marriage and post-marital life. Through a questionnaire, Dr. Malek guided an extensive dialogue on cultivating a mindset conducive to building a strong marital life and contributing to a healthy society.

In the final session, Maulana Mohiuddin Ghazi emphasized the significance of a loving and harmonious family life. He provided detailed guidance on maintaining healthy relationships and underscored the vital role of women in nurturing and safeguarding the family unit.

The workshop attracted enthusiastic participation from approximately 200 delegates, including 125 unmarried women, 40 married women, and 40 mothers. Participants from Ahmedabad, Baroda, Himmatnagar, Vijapur, and Lambadiya also attended, making the event a diverse gathering. GIO Modasa President, Hajra Malekji, skillfully moderated the event.

The workshop concluded with prayers and a lunch, marking the success of the event. The convener, Rabiyabanu Malek, along with GIO’s young women, students, and members of SIO Modasa, worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s smooth execution and success.
