Mumbai, Aug 21: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Maharashtra Maulana Ilyas Khan Falahi has condemned the molestation of toddlers in Badlapur and called upon society to introspect the reasons behind this growing trend of sexual crimes in the country.
In a statement today, the President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra, expressed deep shock and distress over the molestation of two toddlers, aged 3 and 4, at a school in Badlapur, Thane. He highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that the crime was committed within the school premises by a staff member, which is extremely concerning. “Following the horrific rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, it seems this scourge is spreading across the nation. If we cannot ensure the safety of our daughters and sisters in educational institutions and workplaces, it signals a very serious issue for which we all bear responsibility. We demand immediate and decisive action against the accused and a thorough investigation into this case.”
Maulana Ilyas Khan urged the public to reflect on the moral decay and the alarming decline in personal character within society. He called on politicians and intellectuals to seriously consider the root causes of this moral crisis.
“Our leaders must abandon the politics of Hindu-Muslim polarization and focus on saving our younger generation and society from falling into the abyss of sexual perversion and moral corruption. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind believes that the primary cause of this situation is the decline in piety and the lack of efforts to cultivate a God-fearing society. People have been left to grow like wild shrubs, without any guidance on moral norms, values, or boundaries. Another contributing factor is the culture of impunity that has taken root in our country, where crimes are often viewed through a communal lens, and perpetrators are not held accountable due to political patronage,” he said.
The JIH Maharashtra President called on society and the government to reintroduce moral education in schools and prioritize character-building. He emphasized the need to regulate and control the vulgarity, indecency, and objectification of women that is prevalent in mainstream media, social media, and the entertainment industry. He concluded by emphazing that “The best way to curb sexual crimes is to foster a pious and God-fearing society where women are respected and accorded their true and noble status.”
