New Delhi: Jamaat e Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Husaini expressed deep grief over the bus accident near Medina that claimed the lives of 42 Umrah pilgrims. Most of the deceased were from Hyderabad. The accident left one survivor who is under treatment.
In his statement, Syed Sadatullah Husaini said the loss has shaken families and communities. He offered condolences to the relatives of the deceased and prayed for strength during this period of mourning. He recalled the words of the Prophet, peace be upon him, on the honour of those who perform Hajj and Umrah and said the pilgrims were on a sacred journey. He expressed hope that those who died while performing Umrah receive the reward of martyrdom and the highest ranks in Paradise.
He urged the Government of India to speed up the repatriation of the bodies. He also asked the authorities to ensure full medical assistance for the injured survivor. He called for sustained support to the affected families so they receive the help needed to manage their loss.
Syed Sadatullah Husaini prayed for maghfirah and Jannatul Firdaus for the deceased. He asked the community to stand with the families in this time of hardship. The message stressed compassion, support and shared responsibility in responding to the tragedy.
The tragedy has drawn attention to the welfare and safety of pilgrims who travel for Umrah and Hajj. Community organisations are urging coordinated efforts to support Indian pilgrims and their families during emergencies abroad.
