JIH President Condemns Israeli Attack on Rafah Refugee Camp

New Delhi, May 27: Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), has strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on displaced Palestinians in a refugee camp near Rafah, southern Gaza.

In a statement to the media, Husaini expressed outrage over the “inhuman massacre” reportedly carried out by Israeli defense forces. According to media reports, Israeli forces targeted makeshift refugee tents marked as safe zones with missiles and bombs, resulting in significant casualties and destruction. Husaini described the incident as “barbaric,” highlighting the tragic loss of lives and the burning of civilians.

“This attack on internally displaced civilians in Rafah is yet another example of the war crimes Israel is committing against the people of Gaza,” Husaini stated. He criticized Israel for its disregard of international law and agreements, including the Genocide Convention, accusing it of practicing settler colonialism, apartheid, and the intentional killing of innocent civilians, including women and children.

Husaini also lamented the inability of the international community, particularly powerful nations, to halt what he described as a genocide.

“It is a monumental tragedy of our age that despite claiming to champion justice, democracy, liberty, and freedom, the world’s most powerful nations have failed to stop the war and genocide carried out by Israel,” he said.

The JIH President called on the United Nations and the international community to take swift and decisive action to stop the violence, enforce a ceasefire, and expedite the establishment of a free Palestinian state. Additionally, he urged the Indian government to leverage its historical friendship with the Palestinian people and advocate for international intervention to end the ongoing conflict.
