JIH President Demands Transparent Probe, Accountability After Red Fort Blast

New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) President Syed Sadatullah Husaini expressed deep sorrow over the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening, calling for a transparent and time-bound investigation, accountability for security lapses, and fair compensation for victims and their families.

In a statement, Husaini said, “We are deeply saddened by the blast that claimed precious lives and injured many. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and stand with the injured, praying for their full recovery. The lives and security of citizens are paramount, and the government must fulfil its constitutional duty to protect them.”

Citing media reports suggesting a possible terror angle, he said, “If confirmed, we unequivocally condemn this heinous act and demand that the perpetrators be brought to justice swiftly. Such an incident in the heart of the national capital is a grave security failure requiring immediate accountability.”

The JIH President also criticised sections of the media and social media users for spreading misinformation and communal narratives. He urged citizens to stand united during crises and called for strict legal action against those using tragedy for ideological or political gain.

Husaini emphasised that terrorism has no religion and is a betrayal of faith. He urged people of all beliefs to work together against hate and radicalization. “Only a united society can preserve India’s peace, pluralism, and future,” he said.
