JIH President’s Visit to Aurangabad: A Step Towards Preserving Maulana Maududi’s Legacy

Aurangabad, Aug 20: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind is aiming to preserve and promote the legacy of its founder and one of the most influential Islamic thinkers of the 20th century. The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Syed Sadatullah Husaini, recently visited the construction site of the Maulana Maududi Memorial Foundation in Aurangabad. This grand project, which is being established at the historic residence of Maulana Syed Abul A’la Maududi, is poised to become a beacon of Islamic thought and research for generations to come.

The JIH President’s visit was marked by a thorough inspection of the ongoing construction work.  During the visit, he prayed for the swift and successful completion of the foundation, emphasizing its potential to serve as a crucial platform for disseminating Maulana Maududi’s message to future generations.

The Foundation is envisioned as more than just a tribute to a towering Islamic scholar; it’s a dynamic institution aimed at preserving his thought and expanding his teachings. Its objectives include the establishment of a high-quality research, authorship, and training center – aptly named the Maulana Maududi Memorial House. This center will serve as a hub for scholars and thinkers dedicated to the study and propagation of Maulana Maududi’s ideas.

In addition to its focus on research and education, the Foundation is committed to promoting interfaith dialogue, enabling a deeper understanding of the Islamic way of life, and addressing pressing global issues such as environmental crises and poverty through the lens of Islamic principles. The Foundation also aims to present Islam as a viable and practical alternative system in today’s world, furthering Maulana Maududi’s vision of a just and equitable society.

In his address, Mr. Husaini highlighted the importance of financial support for the foundation. He appealed to Muslims across the country to contribute generously, emphasizing that their support would not only ensure the success of the project but also serve as a long-lasting tribute to Maulana Maududi’s invaluable contributions to Islamic thought.

As the project moves closer to completion, the Foundation has called on all those who revere Maulana Maududi’s legacy to join hands in making this endeavor a success.
