Jaipur: A special lecture organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Rajasthan, concluded successfully with an insightful discussion on Places of Worship Act, 1991. The lecture was delivered by Senior Advocate Syed Shahid Hasan, a distinguished lawyer at Rajasthan High Court, a member of Rajasthan Waqf Board, and former chairman of the Bar Council of Rajasthan.
Held at the Islamic Centre, behind Nana Ji ki Haveli, Moti Dungri, the event witnessed a large turnout. It was also live-streamed on JIH Rajasthan Facebook page, ensuring broader participation.
During his discourse, Advocate Hasan elaborated on the historical significance and various provisions of the Places of Worship Act, 1991, linking it to the current socio-political climate. He stressed the Act’s critical role in fostering religious harmony and upholding social unity. He urged the audience to understand the law’s objectives and actively support its implementation to preserve communal peace.
Presiding over the event, Muhammad Nazimuddin, State President of JIH Rajasthan, emphasised the importance of legal awareness.
“We must deeply understand the Places of Worship Act and work towards spreading awareness to ensure no one’s rights are infringed. Legal awareness is the most effective tool for protecting our rights,” he said, expressing gratitude to all participants.
Participants found the lecture highly informative and said it provided them with a deeper understanding of the Act.
