JIH Rajasthan President Condemns Atrocities against Dalits in Jhunjhunu

– Raheem Khan

Jaipur: Mohammad Nazimuddin, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan, has vehemently condemned the inhumane treatment inflicted on Dalit youths at a brick kiln in Meghpur, Pacheri, Jhunjhunu. According to reports, these youths were brutally assaulted, held captive, and subjected to a ransom demand for their release – all because they touched a water pot to quench their thirst.

Nazimuddin described the incident as deeply shameful, emphasising that barbaric practices such as untouchability and caste-based atrocities persist in India, even decades after Independence. He called it not only a crime against humanity but also a serious indictment of the existing law-and-order situation.

The state president demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict punitive action against the culprits. He also urged the government to implement robust measures to safeguard the rights of Dalits and other marginalised communities, ensuring adherence to anti-discrimination laws.

Nazimuddin stressed the need for collective action to prevent such incidents in the future. He advocated for building a society founded on equality and justice, where no one faces discrimination or violence.

This statement sheds light on the ongoing prevalence of caste-based discrimination and violence in India and highlights the urgent need for societal and governmental reforms to address such systemic injustices.
