Hyderabad: In a significant collaborative effort to purge the city of drug abuse and restore social harmony, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Tolichowki unit, led by President Shujatullah Hussain and Abdul Majid, met with local SHO Ramesh Naik to finalise the roadmap for a massive 14-day awareness campaign. This strategic partnership aims to unite law enforcement and the community to protect the youth from the growing threat of narcotics.
The campaign, themed “Ehtaram-e-Insaniyat” (Upholding Human Dignity), is scheduled to run from January 18th to 30th. A major highlight of this initiative will be a grand public rally where students will take centre-stage to voice their stand against addiction.
Strategic Highlights:
Police Cooperation: The delegation submitted a formal memorandum to SHO Ramesh Naik, seeking police support to ensure the campaign reaches every corner of the locality while maintaining peace and order.
14-Day Intensive Outreach: From January 18th to 30th, the movement will cover schools, colleges, coaching centres, and gyms to build a “drug-free” student community.
Community Engagement: Beyond the classroom, the initiative extends to labour unions and slum areas, providing life-skills training and sharing recovery stories to inspire those trapped in addiction.
Long-term Monitoring: JIH plans to form local committees to work alongside authorities for continuous social monitoring and to curb criminal tendencies among youth.
“Our meeting with the police department marks a crucial step. Over these 14 days, by combining community efforts with administrative support, we aim to shield our students from the demon of addiction,” said Shujatullah Hussain.
