JIH-WB Delegation Engages with JPC on Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024

A delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, West Bengal, recently engaged in a comprehensive discussion with members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024. The delegation met with key committee members, including West Bengal MPs Nadimul Haque and Kalyan Banerjee, to present their concerns and suggestions.

During the meeting, the delegation submitted a detailed 20-page draft that highlighted the flaws in the proposed bill and articulated Jamaat’s stance on the matter. The document aimed to provide constructive feedback and urge the committee to consider the implications of the amendments on the Waqf properties and the communities they serve.

This discussion marks a critical step in the ongoing dialogue surrounding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024, as various stakeholders seek to ensure that the legislation reflects the interests and rights of all concerned parties.
