Karnataka Mosques Hold Special Prayers for Peace Amid Kashmir Tragedy And Subsequent Border Tensions

Bengaluru: In the wake of the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir that left 26 innocent civilians dead, mosques across Karnataka held special prayers on Friday, calling for peace, unity, and national solidarity, reported the EtvBharat.

Speaking after the congregational Friday prayers at Bengaluru’s historic City Jamia Masjid in KR Market, Maulana Maqsood Imran Rashadi condemned the attack and expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims. “The massacre in Pahalgam is a national tragedy. We share in the pain of the nation,” he said.

Maulana Maqsood also emphasized that Muslim scholars, political leaders, and public representatives have conveyed unanimous support to the Prime Minister, endorsing strong action against the perpetrators. “We fully support the Indian government’s efforts to bring the culprits to justice. Terrorism has no place in our country,” he said.

He lauded the courage and dedication of India’s armed forces, stating, “We are proud of the Army, Navy, and Air Force who protect our nation day and night. Their sacrifices strengthen our collective resolve.”

As part of a coordinated appeal, Imams across Karnataka were urged to hold special du’as (prayers) for peace and the well-being of the soldiers. The initiative received overwhelming participation, with mosques offering prayers for protection, strength, and national unity.

This call for prayer was also supported by Karnataka’s Minister for Minority Welfare and Waqf, Zameer Ahmed Khan, and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, who requested temples to conduct special rituals for peace in the region.

Maulana Maqsood highlighted that in times of national crisis, people of all faiths must unite. “Whether Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, or Buddhist—we are all children of India. Together we reject terrorism and stand for peace, dignity, and sovereignty.”

He also extended full support to the government’s recent military response under Operation Sindoor, affirming that the entire community stands behind the nation in this hour of tension.
