Kejriwal Questions RSS, BJP over Alleged Wrongdoings Ahead of Delhi Elections

New Delhi: With the Delhi Assembly elections approaching in February, political tensions have escalated as AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal penned a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, questioning the Sangh’s support for the BJP and its alleged electoral misconduct, reports the Indian Express.

Kejriwal’s letter accused the BJP of tampering with electoral rolls and buying votes.

“There are media reports suggesting the RSS will seek votes for the BJP in the Delhi elections. Does the RSS support the BJP’s wrongdoings, such as removing names of poor, Dalit, and slum dwellers from voter lists?” Kejriwal asked, emphasising that such actions weaken Indian democracy.

In response, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of spreading lies and attempting to deflect attention from his governance failures. He issued a scathing letter urging Kejriwal to make five resolutions, including apologising for “false promises” and refraining from “deceitful politics.”

Sachdeva also criticised AAP’s policies, alleging corruption in Yamuna cleaning projects and misuse of funds. “Instead of seeking donations from anti-national forces, focus on truthful governance,” he wrote.

AAP retaliated, dismissing the BJP’s claims and highlighting failures in law enforcement under the BJP-led government. “Why isn’t BJP addressing critical issues like rising crime rates in Delhi? Instead, they target Kejriwal, fearing his progressive guarantees,” AAP stated.

BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi advised Kejriwal to learn from the RSS’s “spirit of service” rather than engaging in political theatrics.

This exchange comes amidst heightened political drama, with both parties gearing up for a fierce electoral battle in the national capital.
