Abu Dhabi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen investment and trade cooperation between Kerala and the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting focused on deepening economic partnerships and exploring new areas of collaboration to enhance growth for both regions. Both leaders discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in key sectors and promote fresh avenues for development and investment.
Senior officials attended the meeting, including Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development Chairman Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Crown Prince’s Office Saif Saeed Ghobash, Kerala Minister Saji Cherian, Indian Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal, and LuLu Group Chairman M.A. Yusuffali.
The discussions aimed to identify projects that could support Kerala’s economic progress while aligning with the UAE’s broader goals of sustainable development and international trade partnerships. Vijayan highlighted Kerala’s growing potential in technology, renewable energy, and tourism, while the Crown Prince reaffirmed the UAE’s interest in deepening its engagement with Indian states.
The meeting marks a continued effort to build stronger India-UAE state-level relations, especially in sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, and investment-linked employment opportunities for Keralites.
