Kerala IUML Leader Booked Over Alleged Problematic Post on Pahalgam Incident

Kozhikode: Kerala police have booked a local leader of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) over an alleged problematic social media post related to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, reported the Madhyamam.
The case was registered against IUML’s Kozhikode district committee member following complaints that the post was insensitive and could potentially incite communal tensions. Authorities said the post allegedly made controversial remarks regarding the tragic killing of Hindu pilgrims in the attack.
According to officials, a preliminary inquiry revealed that the content shared was inappropriate and violated social media guidelines, prompting swift legal action. The police filed the case under sections related to promoting enmity between groups and creating public mischief.
IUML leadership, however, distanced itself from the post, stating that the party does not endorse such views and that necessary internal action would be taken if the leader is found guilty. They emphasized that IUML remains committed to peace and harmony.
The accused leader has been summoned for questioning, and further investigation is underway to determine the intent and impact of the post.
