Khamenei Made Iran a Powerful and Prosperous Nation

By Hareesh Ahmad Minhaaj

Finally, the world witnessed…the world’s largest funeral. The most celebrated state mourning ceremony in the Middle East, and indeed in world history, will be remembered as a historical example, an incomparable symbol. More than 20 million people from around the world attended this final farewell ceremony, which lasted from July 3rd to 9th. Representatives from more than 100 countries participated in the ceremony.

Iran focused the attention of global leaders on Iran. The world’s greatest figures joined the funeral procession and stood by Iran. Leaders of all religions united in a single line of brotherhood. By involving leaders of all walks of life, both small and large, in mourning, Iran not only elevated the image of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei but also defeated and isolated Israel and the United States, countries that support terrorism and genocide, from the world stage.

Iran’s 86-year-old former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who served as Iran’s Supreme Leader for 37 years, created a system of governance that is independent of any single individual. He strengthened institutions so that the government continues to function even after the departure of a leader. This is why, despite the assassination of several military commanders, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, during the US-Israeli war, the country’s system remained intact and its functioning remained unchanged.

The creation of a strong system independent of any single individual is one of Iran’s greatest achievements. Today, the world not only looks to Iran but also recognises it as a powerful nation. Iran fought the war on its own terms and won by defending human rights. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei transformed Iran into Iranianism, forever placing Iran among the ranks of powerful nations. The world will always remember this great personality.  He will live on even after his death and will forever guide Iran as a leading and powerful nation, following his path.

Meanwhile, the United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary during the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Reports of the celebrations have subsided. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said, “I thought people hated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. I thought people would be happy with Khamenei’s death. But, we are seeing something else.” Seeing the outpouring of grief in Iran, US President Donald Trump, who seemed to lose his lustre, made a desperate statement, “If we wanted, we could wipe out Iran at such a time by killing everyone.” Iran responded, saying, “America has neither civilization, history, nor honour. You broke a perfume bottle and spread its fragrance throughout the world. Remember, you can kill a person, not his ideas.”

Now, post-Khamenei, Iran has become even more powerful and prosperous. Even if not during his lifetime, his martyrdom has united all of Iran. Iran has further unified itself with the funeral procession of its former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. All of Iran has taken to the streets, holding red flags to take revenge on America. People are spitting on Trump’s portrait, throwing stones and shoes to protest.

I am happy to pay tribute to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying that if a martyr’s funeral is like this, I would sacrifice thousands of my lives. In every era, there are leaders who not only engage in politics but also shape the thinking and direction of their country. Whether in difficult circumstances or under international pressure, they always prioritised their country’s sovereignty and principles. Their strong resolve and unwavering commitment to their country became their hallmark, a supreme example of their struggle and dedication. History never forgets the exploits of such leaders, because leadership is not just a position, but a symbol of sacrifice and faith.  You will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of the world, forever smiling. We are fortunate to have been born in your time and seen you, otherwise we had only read stories of brave men in books.
