Khwaja Shahid Condemns ‘Targeted Killing’ of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Calls It ‘Brutal Murder’

New Delhi: Khwaja Shahid, President of All India Educational Movement, on Monday, strongly condemned what he described as the “targeted killing” of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling it “nothing short of a brutal murder.”

In a statement issued here, Shahid criticised the governments of Israel and the United States, alleging that the act constituted a grave violation of international law and the principles of national sovereignty.

“As members of the civilized citizenry of India, we stand in profound indignation against the high-handedness and naked aggression displayed by the governments of Israel and the USA,” the statement read. He described the alleged action as a “flagrant violation of every established canon of international law and sovereign respect.”

Shahid said the act represented a contradiction by nations that “present themselves as the vanguards of democracy and human rights,” accusing them of bypassing the international order they claim to uphold. He further stated that history would judge the leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the American administration for what he termed a “moment of regression into lawlessness.”

Referring to the incident as a martyrdom, Shahid said that such a death should be viewed as a “spiritual victory that no earthly weapon can diminish.” He added, “A Shaheed never dies. Though they may be lost to our sight, the Almighty has promised them a station of eternal life and the highest place in Jannat.”

The statement concluded with an appeal to the international community to raise its voice against what he called “state-sponsored violence.” Shahid urged “all civilized nations, governments, and people of conscience” to speak out, stating that silence in the face of such actions would amount to complicity.
