Konkani Shanti Publications Hosts Multilingual Literature Festival

Konkani Shanti Publications organised a multilingual literature festival on ‘Morality is Freedom’.

The Festival included speeches by guest speakers on the morality is freedom theme. It also featured a multilingual kavi sammelan, felicitation of poets and writers and poetry book release consisting of a collection of poems on the theme by various poets across Goa.

Nazrana Darvesh, program convenor, in her inaugural address highlighting the downfall of moral values in society, presented the statistics how growing immorality trend is destroying the family and social structure.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Prakash Parienkar, Vice Dean, Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature, enlightened the audience with experiences from his life, stating how we should value the hard-earned money of our parents and spend in just causes and not for self-destruction. He insisted to uplift the morals taught by our elders and congratulated KSP for organizing such a program for reformation of society.

  1. Shivdas, an eminent writer, poet and social activist, said such platforms provide writers and poets to express their feelings and raise issues of society for betterment.

Foziya Rabab, an eminent Urdu poet, brought to notice that Freedom without Morality is destructive and how the social media and new technologies can change truth into falsity and vice versa to create chaos in society.

Asif Hussain, chairman, Centre for Study of Philosophy and Humanities, shared the need for divine guidance to maintain the standards of morality.

Various poets across Goa presented their poems on the theme.

The program came to an end with thanks note from Samiulla Belwadi, Chairman KSP.

Arshiya Inamdar and Chitra Kshirsagar hosted the program.
