Libyan Hajj Pilgrim Initially Denied Boarding—Plane Malfunctions Twice Before He Finally Boards

In an extraordinary sequence of events that many are calling divine intervention, a Libyan pilgrim named Ameur Al-Mansour Gaddafi was initially barred from boarding a Hajj flight from Sebha International Airport to Saudi Arabia—only for the aircraft to suffer two technical malfunctions, ultimately allowing him to fulfill his spiritual journey.
The incident unfolded when Gaddafi, eager to join fellow pilgrims on the sacred voyage, was stopped by immigration authorities. His surname, “Gaddafi,” raised a red flag, possibly due to its association with former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Despite his repeated appeals, the plane took off without him.
Refusing to give up, Gaddafi stayed at the airport, declaring, “I will not move from here unless it’s toward Hajj,” according to Gulf News.
Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft was forced to return due to a malfunction in its air conditioning system. Airline staff attempted to have Gaddafi board then, but the pilot denied the request as the engines were still running. Remarkably, a second technical issue forced another emergency landing.
This time, the pilot reportedly declared, “I swear I won’t fly again unless Amer is with us on this plane,” as quoted by Ary News. Amid joyful cheers from passengers, Gaddafi finally boarded the plane.
His powerful words echoed in media reports: “I only wanted to go to Hajj. And I believed that if it was written for me, no force could prevent it.”
The annual Hajj pilgrimage, one of Islam’s five pillars, draws millions of Muslims from around the globe. For believers like Gaddafi, it represents a divine call that cannot be denied.
