Patna: In a shocking incident, a Muslim girl Khushboo Khatoon of Sitamarhi (Bihar) was hacked to death by her live-in partner Suryakant Shakya in Chhisarji under Noida Sector 63 police station. The reason for this murder is said to be the proposed Nikah with her cousin in February next year. Her body was brought to her village where she was buried on Thursday.
The Noida police arrested the accused Suryakant on Thursday after her Bua (father’s sister) registered an FIR in the local police station accusing him of killing Khushboo.
According to media reports, 20-year-old Khushboo lived in Chhisarji in a rented house and worked with a company in H Block. Reportedly, Suryakant Shakya of Kasganj (UP) befriended Khushboo through Instagram and they were living together for the last two months. Khushboo was the daughter of Abdul Mannan of Nanpur Uttari village under Nanpur police station of Sitamarhi district.
Khushboo worked as domestic help in Noida to feed her family back in Sitamarhi. She was the sole bread earner for his family comprising her mother, three sisters and one brother.
According to Dy SP central Noida Shakti Mohan Singh, Suryakant had a fight with Khushboo opposing her decision to marry her cousin back at her home. Reportedly, Suryakant said he would not allow her to live with any other if she would not be living with him. After strangulating her to death, Suryakant had fled. Khushboo’s dead body was recovered on Wednesday.
The tragic part of this incident is that Khushboo’s mother was living alone as Khushboo’s father married another woman and left his village to settle down in Jalandhar. This forced Khusboo to leave her village and earn a livelihood for her mother and siblings by working as domestic help.
