17 August 2024: In the Shirahatti village of Gadag district in Karnataka, educational development remains a significant challenge. To address this issue and enhance academic opportunities for local children, Riyaz Ahmed Dalayat, a local tailor with 35 years of experience, has generously donated 3 acres of land to three different educational institutions. Dalayat, stated, “As a professional tailor, I understand the struggles of poverty and the critical role education plays. By donating my hard-earned resources to support children’s education, I aim to benefit the entire village.”
In a family gathering, Dalayat’s relative, Mahboob, shared that the family collectively decided to allocate the land for educational purposes. He expressed their belief that this act would not be a burden but rather a source of increased blessings from the Almighty.
Dalayat’s parents also expressed their pride and satisfaction with their son’s philanthropic gesture, emphasizing that any investment in education is always worthwhile.
Prof. E.G. Sanadi, former Member of Parliament, moved by the gesture, remarked with tears, “While it is common to hear of individuals who take land for personal gain, it is rare to encounter families like the Dalayat family who donate their land to such a noble cause.”
