New Delhi, Dec. 11: Marking the 35th Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar awards ceremony, Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar Academy awarded M.M. Ali Jauhar awards to people from different fields on his 146th Birth Anniversary here Sunday.
Dr Tilak Ram Kem, former Secretary, University Grants Commission; Mr. Khalid Saifuddin, educationist and social reformer; and Mr. Wasim Qadri, Executive member of the Supreme Court Bar Association were awarded Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar awards for their important roles in their fields.
Ms. Mamdooha Majid, member Muslim Personal Law Board was awarded 11th Bi Amma award and Mr. Urmilesh, a senior journalist, author, and former Editor of Rajya Sabha TV was awarded 10th M. Saleem Memorial Award.
During the program, Dr S. Farooq, President of Himalaya Drugs felicitated the rat-miners, who were in news recently, calling them good miners and great miners. The rat-miners were felicitated for their bravery and for saving the lives of 41 workers trapped under the tunnel in Uttarakhand.
A book, Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar-Ankhon Dekhi edited by Masoom Moradabadi was also released during the program.
