Madrasa Students Forced to Chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Bihar’s Banka District

Banka: A disturbing video from Barahat block in Banka district has surfaced on social media, showing madrasa students being compelled to chant “Jai Shri Ram.” The video has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for immediate action. Social media users have tagged Bihar Police and Banka Police, demanding justice, reports The Times of India.

In response, Banka Police confirmed that an investigation is underway, and four juvenile offenders have been apprehended in connection with the incident. Authorities have assured strict action against those found guilty.

To ensure peace, a meeting was convened between representatives of both communities under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Banka. It was chaired by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and attended by officials including the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Baunsi, Barahat Block Officer, Circle Officer, Circle Police Inspector of Baunsi, and Barahat Police Station Head.

In a statement, authorities emphasised that both parties pledged to maintain harmony, and the current situation in the area remains peaceful. “Law and order is normal,” the police confirmed in a social media post.

This incident has intensified concerns over religious intolerance and the treatment of Muslims in the region. Community leaders and human rights activists have called for heightened vigilance and a commitment to safeguarding communal harmony.
