Maharashtra Government Sanctions Rs.338 crore for Govt. Unani Medical College

Mumbai, March 15: An important meeting of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) Maharashtra was held at the Ministry of Health, Government of Maharashtra under the chairmanship of Hasan Mushrif, Minister for Medical Education. Health Secretary Milind Mhaiskar, Health Education Secretary Dinesh Waghmare, Pro-VC of Nasik Health University Milind B. Nikumbh, Director of AYUSH Raman Ghungralekar and several other officials of the Health Department also attended the meeting.

While addressing the meeting, Hasan Mushrif apprised that a plot had been allocated for Unani Medical College in Mahasla Taluka of Raigarh and a fund of 338 crores had been approved and sent to the Planning and Finance Department. “The construction of the government college will begin within the next three months,” he informed.

On this occasion, AIUTC Maharashtra demanded that a separate post of Deputy Director for Unani Tibbi Congress should be appointed in the Directorate of AYUSH. Hasan Mushrif took the demand emphatically and ordered AYUSH Director to submit report regarding the matter. In the meeting, it was assured to give positive consideration to other issues related to Tibbi medicine.

Dr. Mushtaq Muqaadam, Secretary of AIUTC Maharashtra thanked Sunil Tatkare for his efforts to get approval for the first Government Unani Medical College in Maharashtra, and welcomed Hasan Mushrif for the same. He also thanked Mustafa Panjikar, Nazim Goghle, Nazim Hisware of Mahasla Taluk for this welfare work. Without their recommendations and support, this feat would not have been possible.

Convener of AIUTC Maharashtra Dr. Nadeem Usmani and Secretary Dr. Muqadam, Dr. Anas Farooqui, Dr. Afzal Sheikh, Dr. Naseem Sheikh, Dr. Zakir Ansari, Dr. Saeed Momin, Dr. Naseem Khan, Dr. Ali Khan, Dr. Bashira Nawaz, Dr. Nusrat Chauhan and Dr. Rafiuddin Khan participated and communicated the government with the problems facing Tibbi Congress.
