Mumbai: Relief has arrived for Haj applicants from Mumbai and Maharashtra as the Haj Committee of India confirmed 7,843 additional seats from the second waiting list, taking the total confirmed count from the state to over 20,000. Out of 29,000 total applicants, most have now secured their place for Haj 2026.
The Committee has instructed all newly confirmed pilgrims to deposit Rs. 2,77,300 by October 31 into the Haj Committee of India’s account. The amount includes the first installment of Rs. 1,52,300 and the second installment of Rs. 1,25,000. The Committee has warned that failure to make the payment by the deadline will lead to automatic cancellation of the seat. This measure is intended to ensure that the remaining 9,000 applicants waiting for confirmation are not affected by delays.
According to CEO Shahnawaz C., the national second waiting list includes 7,636 confirmed names, while the first list had finalized 22,330 names. He also informed that payments can be made through the Haj Committee website, the Haj Suvidha App, or by Pay-in Slip at any State Bank of India or Union Bank branch, mentioning the unique bank reference number.
Pilgrims must also submit required documents such as the signed Haj application form, passport declaration, online payment receipt, and medical fitness certificate by November 5. Meanwhile, around 1,200 selected pilgrims from Maharashtra have postponed their travel due to personal reasons.
