Malegaon: The management of Nishat Girls High School held an emergency press conference to expose alleged illegal encroachment attempts on its legally owned land near Salam Chacha Road. The school, run by Nishat Educational, Social, and Welfare Society, has been providing education to over 3,500 students for the past three decades with the support of 800 female teachers.
According to the school administration, the disputed plot, located in the northern section of the school premises, falls under Survey Number 62 (new Survey Number 4/62) within Malegaon’s municipal limits. The society legally purchased this 2,305.90 square meter land in 1994, as per the registered sale deed (Document No. 1209/1994), and has been using it for educational purposes ever since.
During the press conference, Chairman Arif Mohammad Abbas, Secretary Hafeez Gulzar, and other key members accused local land mafias, including Pramod Bhavsar and some Bhavsar Galli residents, of attempting to seize the land through fraudulent means. They alleged that Bhavsar manipulated land records in 2012—nearly two decades after the purchase—to falsely register his name, leading to an ongoing legal battle.
Despite repeated complaints to the authorities, no decisive action has been taken. The management has warned the public against any illegal transactions involving the land and urged officials to intervene to protect the school’s future.
