Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has emerged as Telangana’s top-performing institution in teacher training, showcasing an impressive national presence as well. As per data released by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centres (MMTTC) programme, MANUU has outshone several reputed institutions across the country, reported the Siasat.
According to a press release from the university, MANUU secured the top position in Telangana in three major training categories—NEP Orientation, Faculty Induction Programme (292 participants), and Short-Term Programme (283 participants). In the Refresher Course category, it secured the second spot in the state with 638 beneficiaries, just behind Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
Nationally, MANUU maintained strong rankings across all programmes—7th in Faculty Induction Programme, 13th in Short-Term Programmes, and 12th in Refresher Courses. Notably, in the NEP Orientation and Sensitization programme alone, the university trained a staggering 3,954 individuals, earning the second-highest national ranking after Delhi’s Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College.
These accomplishments reflect MANUU’s strategic planning, strong infrastructure, and dedicated faculty. “Our achievements highlight our holistic approach to teacher education and our commitment to the goals of NEP 2020,” said Prof. Saneem Fatima, Director of MMTTC-MANUU.
Dr. Meraj Ahmed Mubarki, Assistant Director, credited the collective efforts of the faculty and staff. “This success is a result of our practical training modules tailored to the real needs of educators while staying aligned with national reforms,” he said.
By setting a benchmark in teacher training, MANUU not only strengthens Telangana’s standing in the educational domain but also contributes meaningfully to India’s mission of educational reform and capacity building.
