Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Hyderabad has been actively working for the development and promotion of Urdu language and literature vide all disciplines of education and learning for the past 26 years. These views were expressed by MANUU vice chancellor Professor Syed Ain Ahsan during a discussion with the representative delegation of Karnataka Urdu Academy, Bengaluru.
Describing the visit of the delegation of Karnataka Urdu Academy as a very welcome step, the VC said that this initiative of the Academy meets the wider goals and objectives of MANUU. Since MANUU and Karnataka Urdu Academy, are both responsible government-run institutions, whose main objective is promotion and development of Urdu literature and education, both the institutions can work collaboratively. Karnataka Urdu Academy can establish a distance learning center of the MANUU, he said.
Earlier, Dr. Muazuddin Khan Registrar, Karnataka Urdu Academy shed light on the activities of Urdu Academy. He mentioned the ‘Learn Urdu in 30 Days’ programme launched by the Academy, saying that it is proving beneficial for the non-Urdu people. He emphasised the need of guidance and collaboration of MANUU.
Dr. Anees Siddiqui suggested that the Department of Translation and Publication of MANUU can help in digitalisation of the rare and precious works of Urdu poets and litterateurs of Karnataka. The President and Registrar of the Academy felicitated the Registrars of the University Prof. SK Ishtiaq Ahmed, Prof. Ehtsham Ahmed Khan and Prof. Muhammad Farhad respectively. Prof. Muhammad Farhad chaired the proceedings of the meeting and thanked the delegation of the Academy for this three-day visit on behalf of the university. The representative delegation of Karnataka Urdu Academy was led by president Maulana Mufti Muhammad Ali Qazi. Members of the Academy Muhammad Azam Shahid, Dr. Anees Siddiqui, Shahid Qazi, Dr. Natiq Alipuri, Abid Aslam, Akhtar Saeeda, Tanveer Azeem, Muhammad Amin Nawaz, Sharif Ahmed Sharif and office bearers of the Academy were part of the delegation.
