Bangarpet: Around 80 kms from Bengaluru, and the first major railway junction on Chennai route, Bangarpet is a business hub. November 9 was a different day in the town. The Masjid-e-Azam hosted a vibrant Masjid Darshan programme, marking a significant moment of interfaith dialogue and community engagement. The local legislator S.N. Narayanaswamy was delighted to call it an excellent platform for fostering understanding and respect among different communities.
The programme, with a huge number of participants from various backgrounds, was led by Muhammad Nawaz, PRO Dawah JIH Karnataka, and Riyaz Ron, Assistant Secretary of JIH Karnataka. The diverse group of men and women who participated had the valuable opportunity to learn about the significance of the masjid and its central role in the community, gaining insight into the unity, devotion, and values that form the foundation of the Muslim faith.
The success of this Masjid Darshan initiative, which has already been replicated in many other places across Karnataka, reflects the growing interest in learning about Islam and building bridges between communities. It provides a rare opportunity to dispel misconceptions and promote mutual respect.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the Masjid Committee and JIH Karnataka cadre for their efforts in making the event a success. Muhammad Amjad Ali, Assistant District Organiser, expressed gratitude to participants and organisers. Mubarak Baghban, Ameer Maqami Bangarpet, offered a Du’aa, and the event ended with a sense of peace and goodwill.
