Massive Anti-War Protest Erupts in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square, Calls for End to Gaza War

Tel Aviv – Tens of thousands of protesters gathered at Hostages Square in central Tel Aviv over the weekend, demanding an immediate end to the ongoing war in Gaza and urging the Israeli government to secure the release of the remaining hostages.
The mass protest, one of the largest since the conflict began, was covered by CNN’s Nic Robertson, who reported from the scene. Demonstrators held signs, chanted slogans, and called for both a ceasefire and renewed diplomatic efforts to bring back those still held in Gaza.
Many in the crowd voiced frustration over the government’s handling of the war and the continued suffering on both sides. The protest included families of hostages, peace activists, and citizens concerned about the prolonged violence and its impact on Israeli society.
The demonstration came amid increasing international pressure on Israel to reduce hostilities and explore avenues for peace. Despite ongoing military operations, the public outcry reflects a growing demand within Israeli society for political accountability and a shift toward negotiation.
Security forces maintained a visible presence at the protest, which remained largely peaceful.
The rally marks a significant moment in Israel’s internal discourse on the Gaza war, showing rising discontent among citizens as the conflict continues to escalate.
