Massive Fire at East Delhi Children’s Hospital Kills Seven Newborns

Delhi, May 26: A catastrophic fire broke out at a children’s hospital in Vivek Vihar early Sunday, claiming the lives of at least seven newborns. The bodies have been moved to GTB Hospital for postmortem examinations.

Authorities have identified the hospital’s owner as Naveen Kichi and are pursuing legal action against him.

Amid the chaos, 12 newborns were successfully rescued and have been relocated to East Delhi Advance NICU hospital for further care.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed profound grief over the tragedy. “The fire at this children’s hospital is a tragic event. Our hearts go out to the families who lost their innocent children. Government and administration officials are currently providing medical care to the injured. An investigation into the causes of the fire is underway, and those found responsible for this negligence will face consequences,” he stated.

The investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing, with officials determined to hold those accountable for the negligence that led to this tragic incident.
