Baran, Aug 27: Anjuman Ittihad-e-Bahmi organized a large-scale protest at Anjuman Chowraha here Friday to denounce the recent insults directed at Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the inflammatory statements made against Muslims in Balotra, Rajasthan.
The event, participated by thousands of people, began with recitation of the Quran by Hafiz Anas, followed by a Naatiya Kalam presentation by Mohammad Ashraf. Key speakers, including Maulana Mohammad Imtiaz, Maulvi Mohammad Salman, Haji Wasim Ahmed, and Abdul Mateen, addressed the gathering, urging the community to emulate the teachings and lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Sadar Ehtishamuddin Siddiqui voiced his strong condemnation of the incidents and read out two memorandums. The first memorandum demanded that a treason case be filed against Ram Giri, calling for the death penalty. The second memorandum sought the arrest of the Baba of Balotra. These memorandums were submitted to the District Collector Baran’s representative, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Divyanshu Sharma, on behalf of the President of India and the Governor, respectively. Additionally, an application was filed for an FIR against the Baba at the Kotwali Baran Police Station.
The protest was closely monitored by local law enforcement, including Circle Officer Omendra Shekhawat and Police Station Officer Ramvilas Meena, who were present with a police contingent. The event was coordinated by Abid Hussain Ansari, General Secretary of Anjuman Ittihad-e-Bahmi. Abdul Aziz (Ajju Bhai) expressed gratitude to all participants as the program concluded.
The demonstration in Baran echoed the community’s demand for stringent action against those responsible for the offensive remarks and speeches, emphasizing the need for justice in the matter.
