Maulana Beaten to Death in Ajmer Mosque, Police Launch Investigation

27 Apr. 24: In a shocking incident, Maulana Mohammad Mahir of Mohammadi Masjid in Kanchan Nagar, Ajmer, was brutally beaten to death by three unidentified assailants. The heinous crime took place around 3 am on Saturday, sending shockwaves throughout the area.

The assailants, wearing masks, entered the mosque where Maulana Mahir was sleeping alongside six children studying in the mosque. They mercilessly attacked him with sticks, resulting in his tragic demise. The children were threatened into silence as the attackers fled the scene, taking the Maulana’s mobile phone with them.

Ramganj police station in-charge Ravindra Khinchi stated that upon receiving the report of the murder, the police swiftly responded, registering a case against the unknown perpetrators and commencing a thorough investigation. Maulana Mahir, a resident of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, was not only the mosque’s Imam but also a dedicated teacher to the local children.

Eyewitness accounts from the children revealed that the attackers arrived from behind the mosque and swiftly carried out the brutal assault before fleeing the scene. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, prompting the police to explore all possible angles.

The police have intensified their efforts, calling in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and dog squad teams to gather evidence and track down the perpetrators. With the community demanding swift justice, additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and security.

Maulana Mahir’s tragic demise has left the community in mourning, with his body being kept at the JLN Hospital mortuary in Ajmer. The authorities are under immense pressure to apprehend the culprits and ensure that justice is served for this senseless act of violence.
