Mumbai: The demise of Maulana Zaid Ayyubi is a significant loss to the Muslim community. He was a distinguished Islamic scholar, a compassionate mentor, and a remarkable example of simplicity. His dedication and efforts illuminated the lives of many. Expressing sorrow over his passing, Maulana Ilyas Khan Falahi, Ameer-e-Halqa, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra, stated that his departure is deeply painful for all.
Born in 1947 in Malegaon, Nashik, Maharashtra, Maulana Ayyubi passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 77. He completed his education at Ma’had al-Millat (Malegaon) and served as a teacher at Jamia al-Huda (Malegaon) and Madarsa Darul Islam (Jalna). He also contributed as Assistant Secretary of the Training Department of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra.
A scholar with profound knowledge of Qur’an and Hadith, his speeches were rich in Islamic references, delivered with a soft yet deeply moving tone. He was deeply troubled by the struggles of the Muslim community and worked tirelessly for its revival. Although an active member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, he extended selfless support beyond organizational and sectarian boundaries.
Maulana Ayyubi epitomized humility and led a simple, contented life, detached from material desires and personal ambition. His sincerity left a lasting impact on all who met him. He was the foundation stone of many initiatives, strengthening the community without seeking recognition. His loss is irreplaceable, and the community prays for a worthy successor to continue his legacy.
