MPCM (Meitei Pangal Council Manipur), a Manipuri Muslim civil society group, provided relief material to the families of the three Meitei families killed in the after-midnight of August 5. MPCM president Haji Arafat Tampakmayum handed over the material.
In its press release reported in the Manipuri daily, Hueiyen Lanpao, MPCM organisation secretary Sher Khan expressed that Central and Manipur governments should make efforts to bring back peace and normalcy. If all the inhabitants try to maintain integrity of Manipur, peace will be restored. A lot of evil murderous plans have made Manipur 30 years backward. Let us make united Manipur, abandoning selfish motives of individuals and self-interests of communities.
The Manipuri daily also praised Meiteis as a community who has brought laurels in sports as part of history. MPCM organisation secretary remarked that Manipur is a land of many ethnic communities because of the good nature of Meiteis.
