Memorandum Submitted to Beawar District Collector Seeks Action against Yati Narsinghanand

– Raheem Khan

Beawar: Acting on the directives of State President of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committees’ Minority Department, Abid Kagzi, a memorandum was submitted to the District Collector of Beawar on Monday. The memorandum, addressed to the President of India, demands strict legal action against Yati Narsinghanand for his derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The submission was led by the Minority Department of District Congress Committee, Beawar.

Azmat Kathat, a representative of the Congress Minority Department in Beawar, emphasized India’s long-standing tradition of communal harmony, where people of all religions have coexisted peacefully for generations. He expressed concern that individuals like Narsinghanand are attempting to disrupt this harmony by promoting divisive rhetoric. Kathat highlighted that Narsinghanand recently made offensive remarks against Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, a revered figure known for spreading the message of humanity worldwide. These statements, he noted, have deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.

Kathat also accused Narsinghanand of seeking attention through inflammatory and baseless statements targeting various public figures and religious leaders. He stressed that such behaviour is intolerable, particularly when it disrespects a religious leader as significant as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The memorandum calls for legal action under strict provisions such as the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), urging the government to ensure that Narsinghanand is held accountable for his statements. It demands his arrest and punishment to serve as a deterrent to future acts of religious disrespect, in hopes of restoring peace and calming the anger among the Muslim community. The demand also includes a public apology from Narsinghanand.

Present at the submission were members of the Minority Department, including Ayub Gori, Dr. Syed Jamal Ali, Haji Bashir Mohammad, Shakil Ahmed Khilji, Mastan Khan Pathan, Mohammad Salim Bhai, Advocate Rahmat Kathat, Advocate Shahid Khan, Sabir Kathat, Iklak Hussain, and Mansuri.

In a related development, Moharram Intizamiya Committee of Beawar also expressed its outrage over Narsinghanand’s remarks. The committee filed an FIR at Beawar City Police Station, where the station in-charge assured them of appropriate action. Present during this submission were Pappu Pehalwan, President of Moharram Intizamiya Committee, Vice President Babu Bhai, Mohammad Chand, Mohammad Sahil, Adil Gori, Mohammad Ejaj, and Kashim Mansuri.
