Mhow Cantonment Issues Demolition Notice to Ancestral Home of Al Falah University Chairman

Mhow: The Mhow Cantonment Board has issued a final demolition notice to the family of Al Falah University chairman Mohammad Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui. The board cited alleged illegal construction at the family’s ancestral home in the Kayastha locality. The structure is locally known as Maulana’s Building. It was built in the 1990s by the late Mohammad Hammad Siddiqui. The four storey building has more than 25 windows and a large basement. It remains a known landmark in the area.

Cantonment engineer Harishankar Kaloya said the board issued the notice to the registered owner or occupant. He stated that the property still stands in the name of Hammad Siddiqui. He explained that cantonment rules allow repair or renovation only when the titleholder seeks permission. Since the ownership was never updated, officials classify the entire building as unauthorised.

The notice comes during increased scrutiny of the Siddiqui family. Police across several states have revived old investigations into financial fraud linked to members of the family. This follows recent reports involving two doctors from Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad who were questioned for their alleged role in a terror module linked to an explosion near the Red Fort on November 10.

Earlier this week, police arrested Jawad’s younger brother, Hamud Ahmed Siddiqui, from Hyderabad. He had been wanted in fraud cases registered in Mhow in 2000. Police said he misled investors through fake investment schemes that targeted retired Army and Military Engineer Services personnel. He had been living in Hyderabad under a different identity and operated a stock market investment firm. Police stated that he attempted to hide his identity through several measures, including using alternate delivery addresses for household services.
