Milli Council Organizes Meeting on Waqf, Rejects New Waqf Law

Hyderabad: The All India Milli Council, under the supervision of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, organized a crucial meeting on Sunday to discuss the Waqf Act 2025 and its implications for the Muslim community in India. The meeting, held at the Nehru Auditorium, Madina Education Centre, Nampally, featured prominent speakers including Board President Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, AIMIM chief and MP Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress MP Imran Masood, Faheem Quraishi, and Azmatullah Hussaini.
Speakers alleged that the Centre was attempting to undermine the institution of Waqf and argued that the new Act poses a threat to the very existence of Waqf institutions across India.
After detailed deliberation, the meeting put forward several key demands:
Reject the Waqf Act 2025: The gathering strongly demanded the rejection of the Waqf Act 2025, citing concerns over government overreach and its potential impact on minority rights.
Nationwide Protest: A nationwide protest against the Act is being planned, with citizens urged to participate and raise their voices in opposition.
Collaboration with Secular Forces: The meeting emphasized the need for collaboration with secular forces to protect the rights of minorities and to work towards repealing the Act.
State Assemblies to Issue Resolutions: The gathering called on state assemblies to issue resolutions against the Waqf Act 2025, highlighting the importance of legislative opposition.
The meeting featured speeches from esteemed guests, including Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani and Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, who shared their insights on the Waqf Act and its far-reaching consequences.
The gathering adopted resolutions rejecting the Waqf Act 2025 and called for nationwide protests and collaboration with secular allies.
The meeting also called for a coordinated political and legal campaign against the Act and appealed for support from the Christian community, which they believe may face similar threats in the future.
