Minorities and Marginalised Groups Plan Nationwide Movement to Safeguard Constitution and Democracy

– Mohd.Naushad Khan
New Delhi: In a significant step towards building a united front of marginalized communities, a public consultation meeting was held at the Constitution Club of India on Wednesday. The event was organized under the banner of Bahujan Samaj Bhoj.
The meeting aimed to create a broader alliance of Dalit, Muslim, OBC, and Adivasi communities. Representatives from various social groups attended the brainstorming session. The key focus was to form a united 85 percent against the 15 percent who dominate power structures in India.
Participants agreed on launching a national mass movement. The goal is to offer a strong alternative to the people of India and to confront the current social and political challenges.
Social activist and former MP Dr. Udit Raj delivered the concluding remarks. He highlighted the worsening situation for marginalized communities like Dalits, OBCs, and Muslims. He spoke about rising communal tensions, exclusion, and the negative effects of privatization and corporate dominance.
Dr. Raj pointed out the sharp decline in government jobs for SCs, STs, and OBCs. He added that atrocities against Dalits are increasing. Muslims, he said, are facing even more violence and social exclusion.
Calling for unity, he questioned why these communities cannot unite for peace, constitutional rights, and mutual security. He stressed that, for the first time, intellectuals and social activists from OBC, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, and Dalit backgrounds are joining hands.
They have pledged to build a nationwide movement. The next major step is a meeting scheduled for June 15 at the NDMC auditorium. There, the national framework and strategy of the movement will be finalized.
