Modi Government Misleading Country about Return to Normalcy on China Border: Owaisi

Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has accused the Modi government of misleading the country about a return to normalcy on the border with China.

The Hyderabad MP has demanded a white paper from the government on the China border crisis and the so-called resolution.

“Why is the Modi government trying to mislead about a return to normalcy on the border when the buffer zones stay in Ladakh and no de-escalation and deinduction has taken place? Why this desperation from Mr Modi who promised to show red eyes to Xi?,” Owaisi asked in his posts on ‘X’.

“It is clear now that the status quo on the border has been altered by China and the Modi government has meekly accepted this new altered status quo. India’s strategic interests have not been secured by this dispensation which since June 2020 has been saying that no Chinese soldier entered our territory,” he said.

Owaisi said the government should release a white paper on the China border crisis including this so-called resolution. He also demanded a three-day debate in the Parliament and a report by the standing committees on external affairs and on defence, saying the people of India have a constitutional right to know what the government has done since 2020.

“Even in Depsang, an area so important to us militarily, the Modi government has conceded to an agreement which allows the PLA to come to areas it was wanting to but not coming earlier. This has been a major redline for our army for a long time and ought to be unacceptable,” said the AIMIM chief.

“As per an official source, it was agreed that Chinese patrols will be allowed in Yangste, Arunachal Pradesh as before and not be blocked.” So, this is why the Modi government is hiding the details of the agreement from the country? It has conceded to China by giving up our longstanding claims in Arunachal Pradesh,” Owaisi added.
