Moroccans Hold Nationwide Protests against Israeli Genocide in Gaza

Massive demonstrations erupted across Morocco on Friday, with 105 protests held in 48 cities to condemn Israeli military aggression in Gaza and express solidarity with the Palestinian people, reports The Hindu.

Thousands of protesters, responding to calls from civil society groups like the Moroccan Commission for Advocating the Nation’s Causes, gathered in public squares. Waving Palestinian flags and chanting anti-Israel slogans, they denounced the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and called for an immediate end to the violence.

United under the banner “Stop the Genocide in Gaza,” demonstrators voiced their outrage over the Israeli offensive that has devastated Gaza since October 7, 2023. The brutal campaign has resulted in over 44,300 deaths, leaving the besieged territory in ruins.

International legal bodies have intensified scrutiny of Israel’s actions. Last week, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Simultaneously, Israel is facing genocide charges at the International Court of Justice for its ongoing aggressions in Gaza.

The protests in Morocco reflect growing global anger against Israeli policies and widespread solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for justice and freedom.
