MP Dharmendra Yadav Accuses BJP of Targeting Waqf Properties for Seizure

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party MP raises concerns over legal and administrative interference in Waqf lands.
Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to seize Waqf properties through legal amendments and administrative manipulation, reported the Times of India.
Addressing the media at his residence on Saturday, Yadav criticized both the central and state governments, questioning their policies on Waqf lands, unemployment, and the economic downturn in the country.
He alleged that BJP leaders are actively seeking control over Waqf properties, which have been donated for religious and charitable purposes. “The government is using legal amendments, bureaucratic influence, and political appointments in Waqf committees to gain control over these lands,” Yadav claimed.
Yadav also took aim at the government’s handling of economic policies, pointing to the sharp depreciation of the Indian rupee. “For the first time in 75 years, the value of one dollar has reached ₹88. The BJP had promised to bring back black money from Swiss banks in 100 days, but where is it?” he questioned.
He further criticized the administration’s lack of transparency regarding the recent Maha Kumbh stampede. “The government has failed to disclose the exact number of casualties. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is busy counting bathers every day. If they can count bathers, why can’t they count the dead?” he remarked.
Discussing the Samajwadi Party’s recent by-election defeat, Yadav accused the BJP of electoral malpractice. “We submitted 500 written complaints to the Election Commission regarding vote-rigging, but no action was taken,” he alleged.
He also raised concerns about the treatment of migrant workers, claiming that while they struggle for survival, the Prime Minister continues to strengthen ties with the United States. “In 75 years of independence, such an insult to the people of this country has never been witnessed,” he said.
Yadav’s remarks highlight ongoing tensions over governance, economic issues, and the future of Waqf properties, as he urged the government to address the pressing concerns of the people.
