New Delhi, Feb. 7: Member of Parliament Kunwar Danish Ali has received Emerging MP Award during the Lokmat Parliamentary Award which is given every year by Lokmat Group to honor the public welfare work done by MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. This time Danish Ali has received this award for the best MP.
Kunwar Danish Ali is an Indian politician and Member of Lok Sabha, representing Amroha since 2019. Ali joined Bahujan Samaj Party in March 2019 after leaving JD(S). On 9 December 2023, BSP suspended him for not following party line and engaging in anti-party activities.
Ali came into spotlight when he was abused with Islamophobic slur by BJP MP, Ramesh Bidhuri in the Parliament. Bidhuri’s remarks were widely condemned by parliamentarians and political leaders across party lines.
Ali, after receiving the award, tweeted, “I am deeply grateful for receiving the ‘Best Parliamentarian’ award from the Lokmat Group. I extend my thanks to the voters of my Lok Sabha constituency, Amroha, for giving me the opportunity to raise the voice of Dalits, Backwards, and marginalized sections in the Parliament.”
The Lokmat Parliamentary Awards are given to outstanding parliamentarians – four from Lok Sabha and four from Rajya Sabha – every year. This is the fifth edition of the awards, the recipients of which were selected by a jury headed by Lokmat Parliamentary Awards committee chairman and former secretary general of Lok Sabha, Subhas Kashyap.
