Mumbai’s Board of Islamic Education Holds 9th Annual Deeniyat Examination

Mumbai: The Board of Islamic Education, a foundational and unique project of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Malvani Unit, has been actively working toward its objectives for the past nine years. This educational programme was launched in March 2017 with the commitment to ensure religious education for students studying in modern schools and to guide parents in providing the best possible education and upbringing for their children. Through various initiatives, the Board continues striving to achieve its lofty goals.

Currently, under the Board’s supervision, Deeniyat (Islamic studies) is being taught throughout the academic year by qualified female Islamic scholars at Ilia Sarwat Urdu High School and Millat Urdu High School in Malvani. Textbooks have also been provided for the students. The examinations for the Diploma in Islamic Studies (for Grades 5 and 6) and the Advanced Diploma in Islamic Studies (for Grades 7, 8, and 9) were conducted on Saturday, February 28. Students participated in the exams with great enthusiasm and thorough preparation.

Under the patronage of Sheikh Anwar, Ameer-e-Maqami (Local President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Malvani Unit, along with Shariq Qazi (Assistant Director, Board of Islamic Education, Mumbai) and Board members, the local women’s cadre and affiliated members of the Jamaat performed their duties as supervisors and organisers of the examination in an efficient and commendable manner.

The Board plans to expand the programme in the upcoming academic year by introducing the course in English-medium and other schools alongside existing educational streams.

The Ninth Annual Meeting of the Board of Islamic Education, Mumbai, will be held on Sunday, 29 March 2026. On this occasion, successful students will be awarded prizes, while others will receive certificates. Education experts, respected scholars, and responsible members of the Jamaat will address the gathering.
