Muslim Cattle Trader Injured in Attack by Gorakshaks

Hyderabad: A group of cow vigilantes attacked a Muslim trader on the outskirts of Hyderabad when he was shifting buffaloes to the city.

The incident occurred under Ghatkesar police station limits late on Wednesday night when a cattle trader Mohammed Omer was shifting six cattle to Hyderabad in a DCM. He had purchased the cattle at Bibi Bazaar in Nalgonda Market. At the Ghatkesar traffic signal, miscreants stopped the vehicle and attacked cattle trader Mohammed Omer with sharp-edged weapons

On learning about the incident, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi spoke to Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu over phone and demanded stringent action against the miscreants involved in the incident.

Asaduddin Owaisi sent party MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig to the spot. He shifted the injured person to Osmania Hospital.

AIMIM MLC immediately reached Ghatkesar police station and met senior police officials.

The AIMIM MLC demanded action against the culprits. On his complaint, the police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Rahmath Baig and AIMIM leaders also visited Osmania General Hospital and called on the injured.

Similar attacks on Muslim cattle traders by gorakshaks have occurred in the past. Earlier, such incidents were reported ahead of Eid al-Adha. However, the latest incident has come as a shock for the cattle traders.

This is seen as part of the attempts by miscreants to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state and in Hyderabad.
