Muslim Child Assaulted by School Staff, Family Demands Strict Action

Haridwar: A shocking incident has emerged from Haridwar’s Jhabrera area where a seven-year-old Muslim boy was assaulted by his school staff for missing a single day of class. The Class 1 student of Primary School Alampur suffered a fractured hand and multiple injuries after being beaten by the principal and a teacher.

According to the complaint filed by the child’s father, Principal Ravindra allegedly threw the boy to the ground and pressed his shoe on his face, while teacher Rakesh Saini repeatedly beat him with a stick. The assault left visible marks on the child’s waist and back. After the beating, the staff reportedly threatened the boy, warning him to leave the school or face death. The terrified child left in shock.

The family has demanded that both teachers face strict legal action under serious sections of the law. They emphasized that suspension alone is insufficient and called for the dismissal, prosecution, and punishment of the accused.

The incident has drawn attention from rights activists who urged Haridwar police, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), and the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) to ensure accountability. Civil society members have also pressed the Uttarakhand government to intervene, stressing that such acts of violence against children violate both child protection laws and fundamental rights.

The case highlights urgent concerns over student safety and the treatment of minorities in schools. Investigations are underway as pressure mounts for immediate justice.
