Muslim Community in Chhabra Demands Action Over Offensive Remarks Against Prophet Muhammad

– Raheem Khan

Chhabra, Sep 2: The Muslim community of Chhabra town in Rajasthan’s Baran district has voiced strong condemnation against offensive remarks made by Maharaj Ramgiri of Nasik, Maharashtra, during a religious discourse. The community, led by city Qazi Maulana Izhar Hussain, submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India, to the sub-divisional officer, calling for strict action against the religious leader.

Councilor Shakir Khan expressed deep anguish felt by Muslims worldwide, including in India, due to Maharaj Ramgiri’s derogatory comments about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He emphasized that such remarks have deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community, noting that no individual, regardless of their position, has the right to use abusive language against any religion or prophet. He further stressed that religious leaders should confine their discussions to their own faiths without making derogatory comments about others.

“Muhammad Sahab is our revered Prophet, and any disrespect towards him is absolutely unacceptable,” Councilor Khan stated. “He is recognized as one of the greatest human beings, a profound teacher, and social reformer. We are proud to be his Ummah, and we demand that an FIR be registered against Ramgiri Maharaj, followed by his immediate arrest. The strictest possible action must be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.”

The memorandum was signed by several prominent members of the community, including Imam Maulana Akhtar of Aligunj Mosque, Imam Maulana Amir of New Mosque, Maulana Arif, Councilor Hassan Khan, Councilor Adil Salarghazi, Councilor Khalid Rana, former Councilor Shakeel Ahmed, former Councilor Umar Mian, former Councilor Osaf Ahmed, Congress Block Vice President Sabir Khan, and others.

The protest underscores the importance of religious tolerance and the necessity of respecting all faiths, reflecting the community’s commitment to maintaining harmony and understanding across different religious groups.
