Dr Namira Mohammad Ghalib Siddiqui has achieved an outstanding academic milestone by securing All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2026. The results of the examination were announced on June 3, 2026.
Dr Namira, bearing Roll Number 2655116267, topped the national merit list with an impressive score of 802 out of 960 marks, emerging as the highest-ranked candidate among more than 30,000 aspirants from across the country.
NEET MDS is the mandatory national-level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes in India. This year’s examination was conducted on May 2, 2026, by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
A native of Maharashtra’s Bhandara district, Dr Namira comes from a middle-class family and completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College and Hospital, Wanadongri, Nagpur.
Known among her peers and teachers as a disciplined and dedicated student, she attributes her success to consistent hard work, focused preparation, and the unwavering support of her family and mentors. “I received tremendous support from my college, and my parents have always stood by me and supported me in everything,” she said after the results were announced.
Her father, Mohammad Ghalib Siddiqui, is a businessman, while her mother is a homemaker. Her younger brother is currently preparing for the NEET UG examination with aspirations of pursuing a medical career.
Dr Namira hopes to build a successful career as a dental surgeon and sees this achievement as the first step toward that goal.
A total of 30,389 candidates appeared for the NEET MDS 2026 examination, out of which 18,244 qualified. The candidate securing AIR 2 scored 785 marks, while the AIR 3 holder obtained 778 marks. Notably, only 23 candidates nationwide managed to score 750 marks or above.
The NBEMS released the list of the top 10 rank holders using roll numbers rather than names. The qualifying cut-off marks were set at 308 for the General and EWS categories, 289 for General PwBD candidates, and 271 for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories.
Candidates will be able to download their individual scorecards from the official NBEMS website beginning June 10, 2026.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated Dr Namira on her remarkable achievement, describing it as a matter of pride for the entire state. In a message posted on social media, he said: “A moment of immense pride for Maharashtra. Heartiest congratulations to Namira Siddiqui, a student of Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur, for securing AIR-1 in the NEET MDS 2026 examination, a truly exceptional achievement that has brought great honour to the state.”
He further noted that her success would inspire thousands of young aspirants and praised her determination, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
