Jhunjhunu: A major gathering of Muslim community leaders and representatives, known as the Muslim Mahapanchayat, is set to take place today at 2 PM in the Eidgah Maidan, Jhunjhunu. Organized by the Muslim Nyay Manch, this event will bring together prominent figures from across the Jhunjhunu assembly constituency to discuss key social and political issues ahead of the upcoming by-election.
Coordinator of the event, Imran Badgujar, shared that representatives from various local governing bodies, including district councils, municipalities, panchayats, and other officials from the Muslim community, will participate. Notable attendees include Maulana Waheed Khatri, the state general secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Rajasthan, MD Chopdar, chairman of Rajasthan Madrasa Board, and other esteemed Ulama.
One of the key topics on the agenda is demand for a Muslim candidate to contest the by-election in Jhunjhunu assembly constituency. The seat has fallen vacant following the election of Congress MLA Brijendra Ola to the Lok Sabha. The Muslim community is pushing for representation in this by-election, emphasizing the significance of their voice in the region’s political landscape.
The Muslim Mahapanchayat aims to unite 30 Muslim communities of Jhunjhunu assembly under a common platform to deliberate on electoral and social issues. Co-coordinator Usman Khan Maligaon has urged all Muslim members in the assembly to attend and actively participate in the discussions.
Educationist Akhlaq Khan and former district collector Ashfaq Hussain will be among the key speakers at the event, addressing concerns and encouraging active civic engagement from the community.
